Dishwasher and Waste Disposer are most widely used kitchen appliances. Although they have different functions but these tools have in common, they both throw the rest of the process into the drainpipe.
Waste disposer processing food waste into small pieces and throw it into the drain pipe with water flowing. So the rest of the process is water and tiny pieces of food scraps.
Dishwasher is washing dishes by spraying a mixture of water and detergent into the dish and then rinses it in the same way with clean water. So the rest of the process is water and detergent.
On several considerations plumbing conditions, dishwasher and waste disposer machine may have a same discharge pipe. It is not always good or bad.
The good is the piping becomes much simpler, shorter pipelines and requires less space. You know, the longer of pipe will make your kitchen not so pretty.
Worse is the capacity of the pipe may not be sufficient. And if it happens then the water will overflow. You’ll find leakage water everywhere. When this happens there are several ways to prevent water leakage. First you should operate the machine one by one or you have to enlarge drain pipe. Second choice will be difficult to do.
If you do the first installation, I recommend installing the two pipes. It’s better and more comfortable for your future kitchen condition.
